Many large laptop batteries are designed around the 100 Wh travel threshold.
FAA rules make 0–100 Wh the ordinary passenger range for rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, while 101–160 Wh moves into airline-approval territory.
To calculate watt-hours when necessary:
Wh = volts × amp-hours
If the label gives milliamp-hours:
Wh = volts × (mAh ÷ 1,000)
For example, 11.4 V × 7 Ah = 79.8 Wh.

Should you fully discharge a laptop battery before recycling it?
